help local people with community projects of all kinds. The Bromham Cubs salute their success.
In Bedfordshire, around 500 Scouts have been mobilised to handle a range of projects, a campaign which will continue through June.
One project in Bromham, North Bedfordshire, saw 35 enthusiastic Cub Scouts handling litter picking around the Meadowbank estate and nearby Village Road. Organised by Group Scout Leader Simon Berrington, with help from parish council pathways manager Peter Argyle, the Cubs' sharp eyes found litter in all kinds of unlikely places.
Six Cubs were despatched to a particularly well known eyesore alongside Village Road where the youngsters were in their element.
"I am proud that so many Scout Groups in Bedfordshire are taking part in Scout Community Week and I know they will have a really positive impact in their local areas. Volunteering is at the very heart of Scouting and it's great to see so many people volunteering to support others and provide help where it is needed. Working together we're going to make a huge difference to communities up and down the country. "
